
About St. Lucia Bread Company
St. Lucia Bread Company was founded in 1986 with the simple idea of baking great-tasting
breads using only the finest natural ingredients, just like Mom or Grandma might have made from their
old-fashioned recipes.
Today, 20 years later, our artisan bakery in Dallas, Texas, still produces bread from scratch using all-natural
ingredients (no mixes, so common with other breads ). We provide bread to caterers, finer restaurants and hotels –
and, through our website, to customers all across America.
Our namesake, Saint Lucia, or Saint Lucy as she is popularly known, is the patron saint of sight. She is
celebrated in Europe, particularly in Sicily and the Scandinavian countries , where it is said she traveled from house
to house delivering sweet breads to usher in the Christmas season. Adorned in a flowing white robe, her path was lighted
by the wreath of candles on her head.
St. Lucia seemed a natural choice to be our company’s namesake. St. Lucia Bread Company – offering
